Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash leave behind elderly cat Mitzy but take in a stray

Stacey Solomon and fiancee Joe Swash have confirmed that their brood has expanded.

The Loose Women star and her husband-to-be landed a massive bombshell that they were moving into their “dream home” and it seems their new addition was part of the package.

Taking to Instagram, Stacey explained that the lady she had purchased the cottage from had been feeding a wild cat, which they have now taken in.

Now worried about his next meal ticket, she left some food for Stacey and asked if the TV star could feed her inherited pet on her behalf.

Animal lover Stacey was more than happy to take over feeding duties and wasted no time at all with leaving out the scrumptious good.

While the cat had been tucking in in secret, on Sunday he took a brave step forward and entered the house.

As you can imagine, TV star Stacey was full of glee that she’d managed to lure her furry friend into their new home named “Pickle Cottage”.

Sharing a snippet of her son Rex watching the cat gobble its food in their kitchen, she penned: “Because the lady who lived here before said she took in a wild cat and couldn’t catch him to bring him with her.

“So she left some food and asked if we would take care of him, if he ever came back.

“And here he is.”

Stacey and Joe left elderly cat Mitzy behind when they moved as “he became too settled with his new family down the road who also love him and wanted to take him on”.

But Stacey and Joe’s family is expanding rapidly with the pair already welcoming a sausage puppy called Peanut into their home in February this year.

Stacey and Joe announced this week that they had moved into their “dream home”

The couple also have a dog called Theo and now it appears they’ll have a stray cat to name too.

Earlier this week Stacey announced that she and Joe were moving into their “dream home”.

Sharing a happy snap of the entire brood on the lawn, she penned: “Home Sweet Home. And so a new chapter begins. We can not even describe how strange it feels that this is home.

“Never in a million years did we ever think this would be. We feel so lucky and are so grateful to have found this hidden treasure closer to our family and further out.

“We can’t wait to fill it with love and give it our everything. To raise our family here. And to just start a fresh. I’m very emotional for some reason.

“It still hasn’t sunk in and doesn’t quite feel real. Thank you for all of your supportive, kind, loving messages.”
