Stacey Solomon slamming 'obsession with Royal Family' in unearthed clip

Stacey Solomon revealed she didn’t “understand the obsession” with the Royal Family in an unearthed clip of her speaking on Loose Women.

The old footage of her claiming she ‘didn’t get the point’ of the royals went viral on TikTok and social media.

The 31-year-old mum suggested members of The Firm should give their ‘spare’ houses to the homeless.

The Essex-born star was seen saying how she didn’t understand people who are ‘obsessed’ with “these humans who are exactly the same as us”.

The clip, which was lifted from an old episode of Loose Women, has now been shared again thousands of times on Twitter and TikTok.

The former X-Factor contestant says: “It could be us four sitting there, I just don’t get it!”

Jane Moore, fellow panellist, and Sun columnist said she felt the Royal Family were “becoming celebrities”.

“To me that’s all they are,” Stacey replied.

Linda Robson got involved in the debate and agreed with Jane that Queen Elizabeth II is “brilliant” and “has always worked hard”.

But Stacey shoots back: “But I would work hard if the whole country paid for me to have, like, 12 houses.”

She continued: “I’m already thinking, you know, it’s freezing cold outside and people are homeless and these people have, like, houses to spare.

“It does sometimes become a little bit frustrating because I don’t see the purpose of all of that money going to this entire family.”

The Loose Women audience met Stacey with applause for her opinions and many of her fans today are still behind the star.

The supporter who posted the clip on Twitter wrote: “Every day I fall a lil more in love with Stacey Solomon.

“The way she speaks up about how unnecessary the royal family are is incredibly brave! Plus she’s absolutely right.”

Replying, one fan said: “Absolutely spot on. They are celebs now, once the queen passes there needs to be huge changes.”

Another added: “Finally somebody saying something I agree with … she is so right – tres bien Stacey Solomon.”

A third even mused: “Stacey Solomon for PM.”

However, some royal fans came into the defence of Buckingham Palace.

One wrote: “How about they cost £60 million a year and return circa £500 million in revenue to the country.”

Another added: “The Royal Family bring in £2billon to the UK economy, who’s going to bring that money in without them?

“All the work they do for charity whose going to raise charity’s profiles & having worked with the Prince’s Trust, so many people would lose out if it didn’t exist.”
