Strictly Come Dancing contestant Dan Walker has apologised after revealing a little too much information about his sore bum cheek.
The BBC Breakfast star opened up about his injury during Saturday’s instalment of the BBC show, admitting that all the lifts he’d been rehearsing had taken their toll on his bottom.
Host Claudia Winkleman was quizzing Dan about his routine and looked pretty shocked when he replied that his butt was hurting and had no hair left on it because of all the tape he’d had to use.
“I really enjoyed the lifts – I’ve got to say, a bit of Strictly insight, my right bum cheek has suffered this week with all the lifting,” he confessed.
“I’ve got about three metres of physio tape on it at the minute – no hair left on there either.”
Claudia looked stunned and, reading the room, Dan seemed to cotton on to the fact it might have been an over-share.
His pro partner Nadiya Bychkova quickly confirmed it for him, telling the TV star: “Too much.”
Claudia agreed that they had “bounced right over” a line.
Looking a little bashful, Dan told viewers: “I’d like to formally apologise, I’m very sorry.”
Viewers may have been a bit stunned but they didn’t seem to be offended in the slightest, with plenty saying they were tickled by Dan’s over-share.
“Always good to know how much bum hair the celebs have,” one person wrote on Twitter.
“Such a daft and yet hilarious thing to say,” said another.
“Don’t really want to know about his hairy bum. It’s like there is no brake between his thoughts and what he says. I do like him though, he’s like an excited puppy about being in Strictly.”
“Omg my face was like Nadiya’s – he does make me laugh,” tweeted another.
One person quipped: “Just ran into my cat cowering beneath the bed. ‘Fireworks’, she said. ‘Dan Walker talking about his hairless bum cheek on Strictly,’ I said. We nodded at each other ruefully, hunkered down and prayed for daylight.”
