Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid shared a personal message of thanks to a cherished co-worker in a touching moment.
The 50-year-old presenter bid a heartfelt farewell to the ITV show’s boss Erron Gordon after he announced on Thursday that he will be leaving the ITV breaking show at the end of this year.
Susanna tweeted to her more than 800,000 Twitter followers to thank Erron, who has held the position as series director of Good Morning Britain for seven years, and has been with ITV for 13 years.
Susanna tweeted: “Our talented Director @errongordon is so good that when Renee Zellweger needed to cast a TV Director in Bridget Jones 3 she picked him,” gushed Susanna.
She added: “He’s been with @gmb since the start. He’s the best in the business. Congratulations on your new job Erron – we’ll miss you.”
Her tweet follows an announcement by Erron confirming his decision to leave the show in a message to his 14,000 followers this morning.
He wrote: “Personal News. After 13 years at @ITV and 7 as the Series Director of @GMB I am leaving the programme at the end of the year to take on an exciting new challenge.
“I’ve had an amazing time working with a brilliant team in front of and behind the camera and I am so proud of the programme I helped launch in 2014.”
Erron, who has worked on a variety of well-known shows for the network throughout his long career, shared a few of the highlights in his heartfelt post on Twitter
“I’ve had some incredible opportunities @ITV; launching @itvpeston, directing the prime time leaders debates, #LifeStories & exclusive interviews with @piersmorgan & President Trump as well as travelling the world.
Not forgetting somehow getting a part in Bridget Jones Baby!”
He concluded: “I’d like thank GMB Editor @NeilThompson62, Peston Editor Vicky Flind @flindv10 & ITV Daytime MD Emma Gormley for believing in me.
“The formidable studio crews that make me look good each day and our fabulous on air team. I’m looking forward to the next chapter and a lie in!”
