Susanna Reid said “goodbye” to Good Morning Britain viewers on Tuesday morning as she announced her lengthy break for the summer.
The 50-year-old presenter was back on our screens on Tuesday morning alongside co-host Ben Shephard.
Seconds before the latest edition of the ITV breakfast show came to an end, Susanna bid farewell to her colleagues and fans watching at home as she revealed she’s taking time off until September.
She said: “I’m going to say goodbye. I’m taking a break now for the summer but Good Morning Britain, of course, is back tomorrow from 6am.”
Susanna and Ben chatted to EastEnders icon Adam Woodyatt, who is currently on a break from his role as Ian Beale on the BBC One soap, before she clocked off.
Ben joked: “He’s taking a sabbatical. You do that, if you’ve been at a place long enough, you can take a sabbatical.”
Susanna replied: “I tell you what, I’m taking a sabbatical for the summer.”
Ben laughed as she pointed out: “Today’s my last day.”
“Oh, happy days!,” he responded. There was a slight pause before adding “We’ll miss you.”
“Oh god, that took a while, didn’t it?,” a giggling Susanna hit back.
She then mimicked Ben in a despondent tone: “We’ll miss you.”
Viewers later rushed to their keyboards to share their thoughts on saying goodbye to Susanna for the summer.
One fan penned: “Your such a delight to see on your last day. I know the GMB viewers will be so looking forward to your return in September. You will be truly missed though Susanna, truly missed by us all.”

While a fourth social media user gushed: “Thank you ever so much beautiful Susanna and to you Ben and to Charlotte and all the team for a great GMB this Tuesday.
“It’s been enjoyed immensely, sad its Susanna’s last day before Autumn but wish her a fun filled summer break. She will be missed.”
Good Morning Britain was named Best Talk Show at the National Reality TV Awards last week.
Susanna did not attend the London ceremony in person but was thrilled to hear the daytime show had been given the gong.
The TV star also bagged herself an award for Celebrity Personality Of The Year 2021.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV at 6am
