The Bill star Jeff Stewart, who played fan-favourite Reg Hollis on the ITV show for 24 years, looks barely recognisable today.
The cop drama’s fans are utterly rejoicing as the show is set to return this year.
After 10 years off-air, the series was picked back up – but under the new name Sun Hill.
But while fans are speculating exactly who of the original cast will be coming back to the iconic police station, Reg star Jeff has changed a lot since his departure from the show in 2008.
The Bill only carried on for two more years without the show’s loveable comic foil, who was rarely seen involved in the series’ more serious storylines, but he was a firm staple until then.
Even Reg’s hairstyle was iconic on the show, always worn slicked back with hair gel, so fans will be in for a shock if 65-year-old actor Jeff decides to return, as the Scottish star has gone a bit more unruly since then.
Spotted shopping in North London on Saturday, Jeff’s once jet-black locks are now curly and very grey.
The actor donned a blue gingham shirt for his outing, wrapped up in a green tweed jacket.
Carrying an orange shopper, Jeff finished off his look with a pair of black sunglasses and a bright yellow cap to shade his face.
Of course, it’s pretty easy for actors to switch up their look and all it would take is for Jeff to chop off his hair, dye it black and have a shave – and suddenly he’d be Reg once more.
But it’s not yet known if the star has even chosen to return to the series, given his character retired and with limited details about the reboot currently circling.
Simon Sansome is writing the project, with two series already locked in according to The Sun.
Actors Graham Cole, Trudie Goodwin and Mark Wingett from the original series are also said to be on board.

Jeff started off his acting career when he featured in ITV soap Crossroads nearly 40 years ago.
Along with The Bill, the Aberdeen-born star has also appeared on Doctor Who.
Jeff appeared in a whopping 872 episodes of the iconic ITV police show for which he is most-recognised – an incredible feat for a TV actor.
Fans can only hope he’ll make a surprise return to the station when the show returns.
