The Chase fans have been left divided after they watched one “posh” contestant struggle her way through the hit ITV game show.
On Friday’s episode of the hit daytime show, fans watched the latest quartet of quiz heads go up against the Chaser, and this time it was The Sinnerman himself Paul Sinha.
As retired sous chef Josephine stepped up to the podium, fans were left divided as took on the Chaser in an effort to save money for her son’s upcoming trip to Mount Everest next year.
While the countdown clock ticked away, the 68-year-old battled to bring home £5,000 to add to her team’s jackpot total, but it’s fair to say she struggled with the questions.
The loving mum admitted she was a bit of a “coward” when she went up against Paul, but presenter Bradley Walsh admitted that she played a great game on the show.
Josephine told viewers: “I’m very greedy but I’m a coward so I’m going to go with £5,000 please.”
Bradley reassured her: “You’re not being a coward at all, in fact even if you went with a minus its not being a coward. You’re part of a team.”
Even the Chaser let his guard down as he chimed in with: “Listen it takes courage to be a contestant on the show so you’ve done very, very well even to get £5,000 so you’re not a coward.”
While the doting mum made it through to the final round, viewers took to Twitter to share their views of the contestant.
Some viewers were a big fan of the Hampshire native as she politely panicked on the show.
One viewer wrote: “I feel like Josephine is more excited about having a day out than she ever could be if she had won,” with a happy face emoji.
Another added: “I do like Josephine on today’s @ITVChase she is a great character”.

A fourth added: “I love how Josephine speaks”
Someone agreed agreed: “Josephine, you were fabulous darling!”
But not everyone warmed to the loving mother, as some viewers saw her attempt to bring home the prize money as an act.
One fan of the show wrote: “For once, Josephine, I have no words. You are beyond a parody.”
Another agreed: “Josephine would be better on Bake Of … making a mess.”
