The Chase fans gobsmacked as Sara Cox lookalike tries her luck against The Beast

The Chase fans claimed to have spotted a ‘Sara Cox lookalike’ on Friday evening’s episode..

Amongst the four contestants to go up against chaser Mark ‘The Beast’ Labbett on today’s show (September 17) was 47-year-old general manger Emma from Essex.

As Emma was introduced, The Chase viewers took to social media to share their belief that Emma looked exactly like former Radio One DJ Sara Cox.

They also claimed another contestant was the spitting image of James Corden, but to a lesser degree.

One excited fan exclaimed: “Sara Cox in seat 3!”

Another wrote: “Emma = Sara Cox ?”

A third commented: “Isn’t that Sara Cox in seat 3?”

A fourth wrote: “Sara Cox lookalike klaxon.”

A fifth sarcastically said: “Nice to see James Corden and Sara Cox on #TheChase this evening.”

Supposed Sara Cox lookalike Emma successfully beat The Beast in her solo chase to secure £5000 for her team in the final round.

The entirety of Emma’s cohort beat The Chaser in their solo runs to take on the final chase together.

Unfortunately, with a prize pot of £19,000 between them, the contestants failed to beat Mark in the final chase.

They were beat by The Beast after securing a paltry 15 points in their cashbuilder quiz, with Mark besting the team with 50 seconds remaining on his two-minute clock.

The Chase host Bradley Walsh said afterwards: “The Chaser beat us with 50 seconds remaining.

“I’ve got to say, that’s another 12, maybe 13, questions. That’s what you’re up against.”

Emma’s fellow contestants were called Christopher, Dhiren and Julie.

The Chase spin-off show Beat The Chasers won the Best Quiz Show gong at the National Television Awards last week.

Shaun Wallace, Anne Hegerty, Darragh Ennis and Jenny Ryan all appeared on stage at the glitzy bash to collect the award.
