The Chase presenter Bradley Walsh walked away from one contestant on Sunday evening, crossing the studio and admitting he couldn’t “deal” with his dance moves.
Restaurant critic Giles Coren appeared on the show, racking up a whopping £8,000 in the celebrity special of the ITV gameshow.
A food writer, TV and radio presenter, Giles, 51, was joined by a celeb cast of Rachel Johnson, Chris Packham and Josie Long.
Hoping to raise a decent sum for charity, Giles plumped for the high offer of £40,000 and turned to face Chaser Paul Sinha.
When a question about “mood boards” appeared on the screen, Giles got jazzed up, slamming the correct answer.
The query read: “What name is given to a collage of ideas and images used by a designer to create projects?”
Three answers were listed below, including mind panel, mixing shelf, and the correct answer of “mood board”.
Bradley wondered how Giles knew to pick the correct option, only for the food critic to start grooving before him.
Swinging around, he flashed Brad the guns and exclaimed: “Cause I was in the mood!”
Bradley mimed despair and stomped over to the remaining contestants, taking a swipe at Giles’ dance moves on the show.
He remarked: “None of your dance moves here son. We can’t be dealing with that!”
Thankfully, Bradley then returned to the podium and the game continued, with Giles sailing into the finale with £40,000 in his prize pot.
At one point, Paul got fed up with Giles’ impressive general knowledge and suggested he get a question wrong to spice things up a bit for viewers.
The Sinnerman joked: “Might as well get one wrong and make it exciting.”
Watching from home, viewers were seriously impressed by Giles’ know-how, with some fans even suggesting he ought to become a Chaser.
One Twitter user wrote: “Quite impressive in the Chase.”
“40k well done on the chase!,” chimed a second, and a third remarked: “Giles should be a chaser.”
The Chase airs on weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
