The One Show's Ronan Keating sparks 'war' with Jordan Banjo after cheeky radio dig

Ronan Keating appeared to make a cheeky dig at fellow radio presenter, Jordan Banjo during an appearance on The One Show.

The Boyzone singer, 44, presents a regular show on Magic FM, operated by radio giant Global, who also manage Kiss FM, for which Joran Banjo hosts alongside dance pal Perri Kiely.

During Tuesday night’s The One Show, Ronan asked Jordan about his presenting skills after he started presenting on Shop Well For Less.

Ronan said: “Jordan, you’re new to the shop, well team, we’ve seen you perform with Diversity, obviously, I hear you on Kiss…”

Before adding: “Oh no, I don’t, I’m on Magic, I don’t really listen,” before Jordan erupted into laughter.

Sam Quek added: “Radio wars!” while the studio guests appeared to laugh at Ronan’s witty comment, while Jordan said in jest: “Let’s go, let’s go!”

The singer went on to say: “No, no, we’re teammates, we’re in the same building!”

Ronan fronts the Weekday Breakfast show on Magic FM, alongside Harriet Scott from 6am through until 10am.

However, he also has his own show on Saturday evenings between 5pm and 7pm, with Disney Plus.

Jordan appeared amused by Ronan’s quick comment

Aside from his radio career, Ronan became a guest presenter on The One Show in 2017 before being announced asa main presenter in May 2021, following the departure of Matt Baker.

The star has also been a guest panellist on Loose Women and created history when he appeared on the first all-male panel edition of the show in its 21-year history.

Meanwhile, dancer Jordan boasts a successful filmography CV, appearing on the likes of Britain’s Got Talent, The Masked Dancer and I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

Jordan and Perri went on to land their Kiss Breakfast programme back in June 2020, with the pair officially taking to the airwaves in August of the same year.

Host Sam Quek exclaimed that Ronan had started a “radio war”

It recently came to light that Ronan and his Boyzone bandmates spent the night on the church floor alongside Stephen Gately’s coffin before his funeral.

The boys stepped in to keep Stephen company for one last time, spending the night in sleeping bags next to his coffin at Dublin’s St Laurence O’Toole Roman Catholic Church.

Ronan later spoke about the “beautiful, amazing” experience on Sky News, saying: “We cried and we laughed and we could hear him telling us jokes and we could hear him answering back”.

In the morning, the group left the church and handed out their sleeping bags to mourning fans, who’d been waiting all night to wave Stephen off.
