Timothée Chalamet is known for his versatile acting skills which he certainly demonstrated with his latest role.

The New York-born actor broke the internet when his acting skills were unleashed as he took on the role of Edward Scissorhands’ son in a special Super Bowl advert for Cadillac.

Timothée, 25, patterned up with the car brand for a minute-and-a-half long advert which sees the young lad going about his daily life but struggling due to having scissors for hands.

In the iconic commercial, the Beautiful Boy actor is seen alongside Winona Ryder, who starred with Johnny Depp in the original Edward Scissorhands film.

It seems as though the actor who became the third-youngest Oscar-nominee in the Best Actor following his role in the coming of age film, Call Me By Your Name, had hoped not to compromise the legacy of the original film.

Speaking to Vogue, he said: “This was a wonderful opportunity to hopefully make the original material relatable to a modern audience without sacrificing the originality of the 1990 version.

“Instead, we wanted to create a character that didn’t make you blink in terms of a present-day setting but was a total homage to the character Johnny Depp created.”

He went on to describe Winona Ryder, who appeared as his mother in the commercial as “a total dream come true,” adding: “she’s an incredible actress and continues to be an American icon.”

While Timothée may be a huge fan of Winona, it certainly seems as though the feeling is mutual with the actress telling Variety: “It was pretty surreal to have Timothée play my son, Edgar, Timothée is an incredible guy — so talented and sweet. I felt a pretty instant bond with him.”
