Tipping Point fans baffled as contestant stumbles on 'easy' geography question

Tipping Point viewers were left scratching their heads on Tuesday afternoon as contestant Julia decided to pass on an easy general knowledge question.

Host Ben Shephard welcomed four contestants to the famous ITV studio as they battled it out to win the highly sought-after cash prizes.

Julia, Steven, Beth, and Dave answered a series of questions to win turns on an arcade-style machine.

Dropping tokens down a choice of four chutes, they each hoped to knock piles of the counters off a moving shelf – the more they collected, the greater the prize fund.

Contestant Julia got viewers talking during the second round of the competition after she stumbled on an easy geography question.

Ben asked the player: “Somebody described as a Serb is from which country?”

Julia decided to pass on the question, leaving fans at home rushing their keyboards.

Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: “Julia doesn’t know Serbs come from Serbia?”

Another joked: “Where do you think a Serb might be from? Have a guess.”

A third viewer wrote: “Serbs are from ……Pass.”

While a fourth social media user posted: “Julia doesn’t know that Serb people are from Serbia.”

“Doesn’t know Serbia or Iberia. The geography knowledge is strong once again today,” a fifth viewer said.

Despite her geography mishap, Julia made it through to the third round of the competition.

She went head-to-head against Stephen for a place in the final, but it was Steven who came out on top.

The IT consultant was the lucky player who it through to the final and had the chance to win a whopping £10,000.

He tried his best to get the special counter over the tipping point by answering a range of questions from different categories.

Steven was offered the chance to trade the money he’d previously won on the show for some extra counters but decided to play it safe and left the studio with £2,750 in his pocket.

He told Ben that he was going to use his winnings towards a deposit for a house.

Tipping Point airs weekdays on ITV at 4pm
