Travis Scott to pay for funerals of eight victims of fatal Astroworld tragedy

Travis Scott is stepping up to help the families of those who died at Astroworld Fest after offering to pay for their funeral costs.

He has also extended even more help for those affected, according to TMZ, with sources telling the publication that it will come from his own pocket.

Sources close to Travis have said that he’ll be fully covering any and all funeral costs that might come about for the families of the eight people who passed away last weekend.

Travis is also set to be partnering with BetterHelp, a network of mental health professionals, to offer mental health services to anyone who attended Astroworld Fest who may need to talk about their trauma.

This will also be a free service, which will be funded by Travis, who is currently expecting his second child with Kylie Jenner.

This comes after Travis broke his silence and spoke out to fans after the Astroworld atrocity that took place on Friday night.

The rapper made a desperate plea for witnesses to step forward to share evidence after hundreds were injured, including a 10-year-old boy who is currently fighting for his life.

The star says he “could never imagine the severity” of the surge of the sell-out festival and was “devastated” when crowds rushed the stage.

Travis continued to perform for at least 30 minutes during the tragic events despite fans chanting for him to stop, as he was unaware of the horror that was unfolding beyond the stage.

The 29-year-old, who shares daughter Stormi with Kylie, spoke on his Instagram Stories.

He said: “I just want to send out prayers to the ones who were lost last night.

“We are working right now to identify their families so we can help assist them through this tough time.

“My fans really mean the world to me and I always wanna leave them with a positive experience and anytime I can make out anything that’s going on, I stop the show and help them get the help they need, you know?

“I could just never imagine the severity of the situation.”

He continued: “We’ve been working closely with everyone to just try to get to the bottom of this. The city of Houston, HPD fire department, everyone to help us figure this out.

“If you have any information, please just contact the local authorities.”

He added: “Everybody continue to just keep your prayers.”
