Now that the main funeral for Queen Elizabeth has come to an end, a private burial service will begin at St George’s Chapel where the Queen will be laid to rest.
The Queen’s coffin was previously laying in the royal vault at Windsor Castle since the committal service which took place this afternoon.
For the intimate event, members of the Royal family will return to the chapel where she will be buried in the King George VI Memorial Chapel which was scheduled to commence at 7.30pm.
Elizabeth II will be buried alongside her father King George VI, the Queen Mother and her sister Margaret.
Her late husband, Prince Philip, will have his coffin moved to join her, following his death and burial in April 2021.
In 1962, the Queen commissioned the chapel and it was completed in 1969. Once it was completed her father’s remains were relocated there from the royal vault in March of the same year.
