The One Show’s Alex Jones has been made to host the BBC show solo after Jermaine Jenas was “busy”.
The Welsh presenter opened Tuesday night’s programme (November 8) on her own after her co-star was elsewhere.
Talking to viewers Alex said: “Welcome to your Tuesday One Show live on BBC One and iPlayer.

“It’s just me tonight look because Jermaine is still busy with our Surprise Squad and they’re underway with the first of their epic set of challenges with Children In Need and later we will be introducing you to another amazing member of our team.”
The host welcomed Poldark star Aidan Turner and actress Jenna Coleman later on the show, who fans were thrilled to see.
One fan wrote on Twitter: “Aiden Turner on tv. Always a bonus! #TheOneShow.”
A second added: “Gosh. That Aiden Turner is well sexy #TheOneShow.”
While a third penned: “#TheOneShow omg hard day at work, home to #AidanTurner wow, yum and drool.”
Whereas another posted: “Aidan Turner looks knackered and like he doesn’t want to be there. #TheOneShow.”
“Short, but sweet, interview with Jenna Coleman and Aidan Turner on #TheOneShow talking about their new play Lemons x5 They haven’t started rehearsals yet,” another tweeted.
One fan praised Jenna and scribed: “jenna coleman just made my day #TheOneShow.”
Aidan and Jenna will be starring alongside one another in an upcoming play that will be touring the UK from the start of next year.
The pair haven’t started rehearsals yet but the stars revealed that their speech is limited to the number of words they’re allowed to say on stage.
The pair only say 140 words each during the play – but will be starting out in Manchester.
