BGT's Susan Boyle had secret kickabouts with show rivals and lost her shoe in game

Diversity star Perri Kiely has revealed to Daily Star that he used to play football with Susan Boyle when they were both competing on Britain’s Got Talent.

The two acts appeared on the show back in 2009 and competed against each other in the final, but a spot of healthy rivalry backstage kept spirits high.

Perri admitted: “This was on the BGT tour. Me and Mitch are the youngest, at the time we were about 13. All the boys were rehearsing on stage but couldn’t find where me and Mitch were – we were off being busy.”

“The boys turned up, they clocked that it was me and Mitch having a football match, a little football game with Susan Boyle!”

Kiely, who now presents his own radio show on Kiss FM with Diversity co-star Jordan Banjo, reminisced on their antics with a laugh.

Perri continued: “What a flex! How sick is that! I forget about that. Yeah, we were having a little kickabout with Su-Bo.”

Although they played together, Kiely hinted that the singer may not have been a gifted footballer

He recalled: “Erm…she kicked the ball and her shoe went flying – it got stuck in a little hall in the back of the arena. It was great! We were all having a kickabout, it was like we’d just asked her to play out. It was great! Never judge a book!”

Perri has a number of celeb pals and revealed that Stormzy had recently invited Perri for an unexpected games night with his idol, of all people.

Kiely said: “I was with Stormzy [recently], on the show. Look how weird I sound – I was talking to Stormzy about Tom Holland! I think I’m just trying to get in their little friendship circle because Stormzy offered that I go round his and play poker with him and Tom.”

“They are literally neighbours! He was like: ‘Tom comes round all the time!’ I was like: ‘Oh my god, get me in there!”

“I have no idea how to play poker, but I will learn just so that can happen. […] I need to learn how to play poker, I need to get a date in the diary. Can you imagine? They’re all so rich as well, I might lose my house or something!”
