Billie Eilish has said she thinks she used to try “too hard” to be desirable and that it makes her sad to think about it.
The Bad Guy singer was known for wearing baggy clothes when she burst onto the music scene in her teens but switched things up a bit last year when she appeared on the cover of Vogue in a figure-hugging corset that left little to the imagination.
Speaking to The Times this month, she said: “I honestly don’t feel desired, ever. I do have this worry that I felt so undesirable that I may have occasionally tried too hard to be desirable. It makes me sad to think about.”
Billie, 20, said there are mixed opinions whatever she wears.
She told the publication that when she wears her loose clothing, people are not attracted to her and criticise her for not being feminine enough, and that she feels “unlovable and unsexy and not beautiful”.
She went on: “Then you wear something more revealing and they’re, like, you’re such a fat cow w****. I’m a s*** and I’m a sell-out and I’m just like every other celebrity selling their bodies, and woah!
“What the f*** do you want?”
Billie previously shared that she lost thousands and thousands of followers on social media when she changed up her image and started showing a little more of her body.
The Happier Than Ever hitmaker said people “hold on” to the memories of how she was when she first found fame and are attached to that look.
“I lost 100,000 followers, just because of the boobs,” the Ocean Eyes singer told Elle last year.
“People are scared of big boobs.”
Billie didn’t let it put her off exploring her love of fashion though, as she wore a cinched-in corset with open bust at this year’s Met Gala.
