Boyzone's Shane Lynch 'unrecognisable' as he makes rare appearance on Celebs Go Dating

Celebs Go Dating fans didn’t recognise ex-Boyzone member Shane Lynch as he made a rare appearance on the programme to offer up some relationship advice to his pal.

The singer, 45, stunned viewers as he rocked up at a café to speak with Abz Love about his thoughts on some of his recent dates.

But eagle-eyed Twitter users were more gobsmacked at how different Shane appeared from his days in the 90s pop group.

One fan wrote: “Didn’t recognise Shane Lynch #CelebsGoDating.”

A second added: “That’s Shane! #CelebsGoDating,” followed by a shocked emoji face.

While a third wrote: “Shane looks so different.”

Meanwhile, other fans were left even more confused as Abz and Shane began to speak their own language on the show which made for tough viewing.

One person tweeted: “What are they both talking about? #celebsgodating”

Another quipped: “LOL Abz has the road lingo ‘Come onnn’ #CelebsGoDating.”

“What the f*** was I just watching #celebsgodating,” added a third.

“Ummm… What on earth is Shane chatting about please? #CelebsGoDating,” asked a fourth.

Shane turned up to give Abz some words of advice

The former Five boyband member hasn’t exactly got off to a great start and experts Anna Williamson and Paul Carrick Brunson have warned about his etiquette while on a date.

In spite of dropping food on the floor and smearing gold leaf from his burger onto his face last week, Anna and Paul announced on Monday’s show that Abz had turned things around as one of the most improved candidates of the series so far.

Abz and The Only Way Is Essex star Chloe Brockett were both in store for a treat after they’d topped the leaderboard with their scores from former dates.

As the twosome had seen much success they were awarded an extra date with the losers of the leaderboard – Ryan Mark Parsons and Geordie Shore star Marty McKenna needing to be their waiters for the evening.

Celebs Go Dating airs Monday to Thursday on E4 at 9pm
