Britney Spears hits out at sister Jamie Lynn and calls online feud 'tacky'

Britney Spears has blasted her sister Jamie Lynn in the latest twist of their bitter online feud.

The Oops!… I Did It Again singer posted a series of iPhone notes on Twitter on Saturday night directed at Jamie where she accused her of ‘making up’ things about her and not speaking out against the now-ended ‘conservatorship’ agreement led by her father.

Britney began by trying to clarify comments she had made in a previous statement, which appeared to describe her sister as a “scum person”.

Looking to take back the jibe, she said: “I could have sworn I said ‘but you’re not.'”

The statement then read: “Jamie Lynn… I don’t think your book is about me at all… I said some harsh things because you obviously hurt me by the things you are making up about me!!!”

“But it doesn’t make sense at all to me what you are saying!!! I know you worked hard for the life you have and you have done amazing!!!!”

Referencing the conservatorship, she then said: “But I think we would both have to agree to the fact that the family has never been remotely as hard on you as they have been on me!!!

“What Dad did to me, they don’t even do that to criminals… so for you to sit back and act completely aloof to what has happened to me is honestly insane to me!!!”

Britney’s comments seem to be a response to those made by her sister in an interview with Good Morning America last week, which she took part in to promote her new memoir ‘Things I Should Have Said’.

The book tells the story of Jamie Lynn’s life and career from her own perspective, with several parts said to be dedicated to discussing her relationship with her sister.

In the writing she describes her sister’s behaviour “erratic,” “paranoid” and “spiraling” before her public breakdown in 2008, while also saying that she was “happy” for her when the conservatorship ended.

Brityney’s estate and aspects of her daily life had been under the alleged control of her father Jamie Spears and her co-conservators since her breakdown.

However, a judge in Los Angeles last year officially terminated her conservatorship after mounting pressure from her legal team and a large fan campaign.
