But as the nation mourned the longest reigning monarch in history, fans of the Manchester-based TV show flooded to Twitter to share their disappointment at the delay.
Viewers have been on the edges of their seats all weekend as they patiently waited for the show which got pushed back following the Queen’s sudden death on Thursday (September 8).

The official Twitter account for Coronation Street finally admitted that the programme was “later than billed” as it kicked off Friday’s episode at 8.10pm.
Fans soon flooded to Twitter to share their annoyance at the delay online as one user penned: “#Corrie aww there’s no chance they’re going to skip talking about the King so we can watch out show [two eye roll emojis].”
Another pointed out: “They need to stop giving us false hope that #Corrie is on – they knew beforehand that there was going to be a vigil tonight for the Queen.”
A third asked: “Where on earth is #Corrie? Is it not on this week at all?” while one user fumed: “Oh for goodness sake!! Put corrie on.”
It comes after ITV confirmed their schedule for Tuesday (September 13) amid the ongoing period of mourning for the late matriarch.
