Corrie's Rosie Webster return 'sealed' as Helen Flanagan teases baby daddy mystery plot

Helen Flanagan has teased an epic return to her former role as Rosie Webster on ITV soap Coronation Street.

The 32-year-old, who quit the show in 2018 when she welcomed her third child with long-term partner Scott Sinclair, was on the soap for more than two decades after being cast in her role at just ten years old.

Speaking to the Daily star at the ITV Palooza awards, Helen discussed the potential reprisal of Rosie Webster and how she envisioned her return: “I would come back as a mum I think. I’d love to see her as a mum. I think that would be really interesting if that was why she went away.

“I think she would probably just leave the baby with Sally and she’d be out all the time.”

She also added that the rebellious teen would likely have some baggage in the form or a delinquent dad.

“I would love a scandalous baby daddy. That would be really good actually. Maybe not knowing the dad, that would be really amazing.”

Reports have been swirling for a while that the star may return to the soap.

A source told The Sun Helen has been “missing” her soap family, as bosses make it clear they’d welcome her back.

The rumours come after Rosie reportedly split from her partner of 12 years, Scott Sinclair. Helen and Scott have three children together and began dating in 2009.

Now that she is single, the time is perfect for her to return to her former role.

The insider added: ‘What was stopping her before was looking after her kids and Scott’s football career – she never knew where he’d sign next or where they’d live.

“But now she’s single she’s talking a lot about going back to Corrie – she hasn’t had any official meetings yet but it’s something she’s talking about.”

Helen and the professional footballer, 33, recently broke off their engagement following reports that when Helen’s engagement ring broke, she looked for guidance from a psychic medium because she believed the incident was a “sign”.

“Helen’s engagement ring snapped earlier this year. She’s into all things spiritual and had a feeling so she sought guidance from a psychic medium.

“Helen and Scott really tried to work on their relationship but ultimately she saw the ring breaking as a bad omen and one that meant she shouldn’t get married,” added the source.

Helen is yet to publicly address the rumours, however she did share a cryptic post back in August about starting “a new chapter” where she was pictured not wearing her engagement ring for the first time.
