Sharing a photo of the late feline on the social media platform, the soap veteran confirmed Limoux’s passing to her 102k Instagram followers and expressed her love for the deceased pet.
Sally Ann wrote in a caption: “Aww Limoux, you really were the world’s most stupid cat and we loved you for it.
“Limoux 2005-2022.”
The actress was quickly comforted by her Instagram followers.
After sharing the sad update, one fan replied: “So sorry for your loss. Pets really are your family. Run free Limoux.”
Another said: “I am so sorry, Sal. Sending you all my love.”
Meanwhile, a third fan replied: “My deepest condolences.
“It’s absolutely heartbreaking losing our furry family.. it hurts like mad ..never forgotten never replaced .. much love and take care.”
A fourth added: “So sorry for your loss,” while Corrie and Emmerdale star Hayley Tamaddon responded: “Awww I’m sorry Sal.”
Following a number of appearances as Jenny Bradley, Sally Ann originally departed Coronation Street in 1993.
Far from an indefinite hiatus, she reprised her role as Jenny in 2015 and has been a staple around the cobbles ever since.
Sally’s real-life heartache follows a recent tragedy for her Coronation Street character on-screen.
In October last year, Jenny’s ex-husband Johnny Connor (Richard Hawley) drowned while rescuing her from the dramatic Weatherfield sinkhole.
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday on ITV at 8pm
