Dan Walker poses for sweet snap with Carol Kirkwood as she returns to BBC studio

BBC Breakfast star Dan Walker has brightened his fans’ day with a sweet snap of him and his co-star Carol Kirkwood.

The presenter uploaded a cosy picture of him and the BBC weather reporter on Twitter, showing Carol embracing him that tightly it’s as if he is in a “headlock”.

The Strictly Come Dancing star shared the picture on his social media account on Wednesday (March 2).

He captioned the snap: “Nothing better than a @carolkirkwood headlock”

Fans of the breakfast show flocked to the Twitter thread to share their thoughts on the cute pic.

One wrote: “You’re right Dan, she is radiant and infectious with her presenting skills. Hope you both had a good day. Carol – I would like you to stop the rain we have in London tho”

A second person added: “I personally think Carol is amazing! You and Carol are fabulous as a team presenting the best news service in the world!!!!! No doubt I’m 55 and watched the Beeb all my life”

A third said: “love it when you have a studio day, esp with Dan and Sal. ‘you guys!'”

A fourth user typed: “It must be great that you can all embrace again you have all done so well over these past 2years …..take a bow”

Another put: “Can’t argue with that. Some people have the brightest of days, lucky things.”

And a sixth tweeted: “I’d say it’s been a LONG two years without being able to have one!! #BBCBreakfast”

“What a lucky man to get a hug from the lovely smiler that is Carol,” with another adding.

This comes after Dan was forced to cut off a BBC Breakfast guest live on air.

A Ukrainian singer featured on the BBC show on Wednesday (March 2) but was interjected by Dan after she dropped the F-bomb on air.

Dan was then forced to interrupt singer Maria Burmaka as she swore at Russian president Vladimir Putin during a fiery message for the country’s leader.

The BBC host immediately apologised to viewers for her explicit language during Wednesday’s breakfast show (March 2).

However, many BBC viewers disagreed with Dan’s apology as they believed it was wholly unnecessary given the severity of the singer’s situation, being a Ukrainian resident – after Putin had issued attacks across her country.
