The former founder of the Dreamboys strippers attempted to kill his ex-girlfriend with an axe after he saw her kissing TOWIE’s Kirk Norcross on her doorstep.
Former boxer David Richards had previously been told to leave the home he shared with Alex Alam, but returned and savagely attacked her back in April.
The professional model suffered three fractures to her head and needed 100 stitches following her severe injury.
Minutes before, Ms Alam had been kissing Norcross goodnight on her doorstep with her two children – aged seven and three – both asleep inside.
She managed to distract Richards and armed herself with a kitchen knife and called Mr Norcross on FaceTime from a bathroom.
The reality star raced back round to the property in Stock, Essex, where he found the crying children in the hallway.
Richards, 41, fled the scene but armed police later tracked him down in Ipswich.
Chelmsford Crown Court heard Ms Alam had repeatedly reported her ex to police for alleged coercive behaviour.
According to The Sun, she finally made an assault claim and was granted a non-molestation order.
Richards had waited outside the hour for five hours before the attack, striking once Mr Norcross had left the property when Ms Alam had stepped outside to see her dogs.
He shouted: “Kirk Norcross? Kirk Norcross – in my house?”
It is understood that she then FaceTimed the TV star, 34, on her iPad to beg him to come and “get her kids”.
During the FaceTime call, Ms Alam allegedly told Mr Norcross: “I am dying – he has killed me, he has done me. Please get my kids. He is going to finish us off.”
Describing the attack, she said Richards had appeared and immediately began hitting her with the axe and then tried to strangle her.
The professional model said she feared she was going to get “hacked to pieces”, with Alex later revealing how she was bound with cable ties and then dragged around by her hair.
But after Richards accused her of ruining his life by previously going to the police, she quick thinkingly claimed her dad had made her do it.
While he looked through her phone for ‘proof’, the brunette beauty fled into the house and used her iPad to call Mr Kirkcross and the police.
The reality star – who also appeared in Celebrity Big Brother back in 2013 – said seeing Ms Alam covered in blood was “like I was seeing a horror movie”.
The court later heard Richards bought an Magnusson axe, cable ties and gloves in B&Q in Basildon on March 21.
He then returned two days later and bought the same ties again, as well as a mask and a black boiler suit.
The boxer claimed he planned to disable Ms Alam’s horse box and that he had not been bothered about Mr Norcross growing closer to his ex.
Richards later admitted to breaking the non-molestation order at an earlier hearing.
He denied attempted murder, but a jury convicted him after a week-long trial and will be sentenced next month.
The businessman first set up the Dreamboys back in 2019 which he later sold.
