EastEnders' Adam Woodyatt targeted by crooks trying to swindle cash from fans

Crooks are pretending to be EastEnders legend Adam Woodyatt to try and swindle cash from fans.

The soap icon,54, has warned the public about a fake Instagram profile from someone pretending to be his assistant.

And one follower said the fraudsters behind the con had asked for cash for Adam to attend a charity football match.

Adam, who played Ian Beale in the BBC soap, wrote on social media: “This person is claiming to be my assistant. They are NOT. I do not have an assistant.

“Please ignore any messages from them relating to me.”

He also shared a picture of the account’s bio, which read: “I love my family don’t Dm me, love nature and photography, assistant to @Adamwoodyatt.

“Happily married mom, I don’t accept followers.”

One follower warned: “They have tried to get someone to pay a deposit for you to attend a charity football match.”

Other fans complained they had received friend requests from the troll’s account.

One even claimed they had told them Adam had been raising money for a child with cancer.

Adam left EastEnders last January after his iconic Ian character survived Sharon Watts’ brutal murder attempt that month.

The actor recently revealed he has no plans to return to the soap in the near future as he’s been enjoying life away from the screen.

He appeared on the White Wine Question Time with Kate Thornton podcast and said: “I’m quite happy doing what I’m doing,’ he said. ‘I haven’t got a clue what’s going to happen.”

Since leaving Albert Square, Adam has appeared on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! where he and Corrie star Simon Gregson left fans laughing with their hilarious antics.

He’s also been spotted serving up fried phesant on a food stall at a festival in London.
