Emmerdale stars Emma Atkins and Lucy Pargeter have joked about the idea of their characters Chas and Charity Dingle sharing a steamy smooch.
The Woolpack and the B&B are both set to host special events on the same day as the warring landladies take sides and create havoc in a battle of one-upmanship.
Charity and Chas try their best to sabotage each other’s events and when they finally come face to face all hell breaks loose between the pair.
Things reach new heights when Charity rubs Lydia’s homemade potato salad in Chas’ face and the pair end up embroiled in a food fight.
Opening up about the hilarious upcoming scenes, actress Emma told Daily Star and other press: “The reaction Lucy (who plays Chas) did on the day I’ll take to my grave.
“Her mouth opened and it all the stuff plopped back out. It was so funny.
Lucy added: “We had set positions but a lot of it was improved. We had a stunt guy there to make sure we don’t hurt each other.
“My kids thought I smelt amazing when I got home. I even had shower, washed my hair before I got home and my kids went ‘Mammy, you smell really sweet’ because i’d been covered in chocolate.”
Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) and Chas come up with a plan to hold Liv (Isobel Steele) and Vinny Dingle’s (Bradley Johnson) engagement party in the B&B knowing it will directly clash with the grand launch of the Woolpack, purposely interfering with Charity’s launch.
When Charity discovers the plan, she puts on a brave face to cover her hurt, knowing the family will all be at the engagement party rather than her reopening.
Soon with Mandy upset at the status quo, Chas suggests a solution to Vinny – they should make their fake engagement party a real wedding reception and Liv and Vinny agree to go ahead with the plan.
With her event a damp squib of a disaster, Charity is soon on the warpath and arrives to have it out with Chas.
Talking about their dynamic on screen and friendship away from the cameras, Lucy explained: “I don’t blow our trumpets but we love each other so much as people and human beings so I don’t care what I’m doing as long as I’m doing scenes with her.
“We know each other so well and our performances so well that you can kind of visualise how we’re going to do scenes.
Emma added: “There’s nothing we haven’t really done.”
Lucy joked: “Well I haven’t snogged you yet.
“Don’t give them any ideas. Dingles are know for that aren’t they,” Emma replied.
Emmerdale airs weekdays on ITV at 7pm until March 7 when episodes will air at 7.30pm
