Emmerdale's Graham Foster 'to return' as fans twig huge Meena Jutla trial twist

Emmerdale’s Graham Foster could be set for an epic return as serial killer Meena Jutla’s trial approaches.

Meena has been behind bars for the murders of Andrea Tate, Leanna Cavanagh and Ben Tucker – along with the kidnapping of her sister Manpreet and Vinny Dingle.

However, she has been quietly manipulating both Manpreet and vicar Charles Anderson from behind the prison doors, so her downfall definitely isn’t yet sealed in stone.

And now fans think they’ve worked out both a way for Meena to escape justice and for iconic bad boy Graham to return.

Taking to Twitter, one fan said: “Best outcome. Meena is in the courtroom. Graham didn’t die but was saved and the police protected him as he was undercover.

“He runs into courtroom and takes Meena off to work undercover as government assassins in a new TV show @ITV!”

The user said of Meena: “Well she obviously isn’t gonna plead guilty. The only thing she is guilty of is bringing the best and most interesting character to Emmerdale since Graham was ridiculously killed off!”

Someone else added: “Graham he had class and that English style that made Emmerdale look good! Foster, Graham Foster, you know!”

Another quickly responded: “#Emmerdale writers need a genius way of bringing Graham back from the dead & it desperately needs @MikeParrActor [Ross Barton] & Joe Tate’s character back.”

Graham was buried in a secretive ceremony closed to the public by his wife Kim Tate after being brutally murdered by Pierce Harris – leading plenty of fans to think he could still be alive.

And it was Marlon who ended up in prison for Graham’s murder after his romance with his ex Rhona.

At the time of actor Andrew Scarborough’s departure – which came as part of a ‘mass exodus’, with him the ninth star to leave the ITV soap within a year – he told fans: “Thank you to the fans, because the show isn’t capable of existing without the fans, and I’ve had such lovely feedback and backing from the fans about Graham.

“I don’t think they initially understood what he’s about – nobody does, actually, I still don’t know what he’s about. But people have bought into it, they’ve bought into the magic and mystery of him and it was a bit special.

“I think it’s better to go while there’s still the mystery, because there’s plenty about him. I just want to say thank you very much, and I’m close to tears, actually.”

Emmerdale airs weeknights from 7:30pm on ITV.
