Emmerdale’s Paddy Dingle looks set to commit murder as he finds out about Chas’ affair with love rival Al Chapman – at least as far as fans are concerned.
Chas has been sneaking around with Al for months after learning about her mum Faith’s terminal cancer diagnosis brought the pair together.
But fans were left furious when Chas spent her mum’s final moments in a hotel bed with Al, leaving her family at home – and later blaming anyone but herself.
Now viewers think it could go a step further, with Paddy stepping up to the plate to finish Al off as his suspicions grow about his wife.
Taking to Reddit to share their 50th anniversary predictions, one viewer theorised that Al’s death could be a “wildcard” on the soap.
They wrote: “Al [to die]! Wildcard… Paddy will lose the plot and kill him accidentally, Bear and Aaron will help him cover it up.”
As another quickly agreed: “I like the idea of Al being murdered and it being covered up. It would be a nice throw back to when they hinted that Eric offed his first wife during the plane crash. I wonder if they will do some throw back deaths/accidents.”
Someone else suggested Al’s death could become the soap’s next big whodunnit storyline, adding: “Yeah definitely a plot in Home Farm estates for Al. Be great if it turned into an Orient Express style murder: Paddy, Aaron, Cain and Kerry!”
Elsewhere, fans have been left fuming about the ongoing affair storyline as Chas and Al met up despite the raging storm outside.
One posted to Twitter: “F*** sake the sooner Al and Chas’s affair is exposed the better sick of it now and Paddy deserves so much better than her like Mandy!”
“I hope Al gets killed off as he is doing my head in, he’s like a dog on heat!! And Chas needs to get a grip why do they all end up with each other?!” someone else said.
It comes as two characters appeared to be killed off in one night, with Kim Tate confirming Harriet Finch died after the quad bike she was riding exploded.
And Sam Dingle found himself impaled on farming equipment after running from a herd of stampeding cows in what was the soap’s most gruesome stunt yet.
With Belle and Nate running after him, will they be able to save Sam’s life before it’s too late?
Emmerdale airs weeknights from 7:30pm on ITV.
