Former Strictly Come Dancing judge Arlene Phillips has said that Tony Adams should get the boot to save more talented stars from leaving the competition.
The 79-year-old revealed that she’s not a fan of Tony and fears talented Molly Rainford could leave because of his popularity with viewers.
Arlene exclusively told us: “I’m just surprised he’s so popular he is trying and he’s made a slight improvement last week but there’s something about Katya’s partners, she certainly makes the most of the partners she gets. Whoever she is with, she works it and works them.

“Tony, I’m not a massive fan. He’s trying hard but when I keep seeing Molly and Carlos in the bottom two, ugh…
She continued: “The reason why I like Molly is that she is so full of optimism when she dances she will always put whatever she can into it and I’d like to see her continue in the competition but I fear not because a lot of the audience think of hardworking Tony.
“He is working hard but I’d like to see her go further, so I think it is his time.
“We saw with Ellie going home last week that when you get the bottom two and it’s two couples that you don’t want to go but one of them has to go.
“Since the very first Strictly – it has been the same, it has been the audience waiting for Chris Parker when, bless him, he could barely stomp his way around the ballroom and again the beautiful Natasha Kaplinsky immediately took to dancing.
“So, a pattern was set with almost an audience fave who is struggling to dance against someone who can really dance – and you set that pattern on the first outing of the show ever and it seems to remain.”
Strictly viewers also recently demanded the show “change the rules” after weak links such as Tony Adams keep surviving.
Fans were disappointed that Ellie Simmonds was voted off on Sunday night (November 6) after a dance-off against Molly.
Tony had been at the bottom of the leaderboard on Saturday (November 5) with 21 points, followed by Ellie Taylor with 22.
However, both Molly and Ellie S scored 35 and 33 respectively.
One person said: “After seeing Molly’s tears maybe these t**** that keep voting Tony through should think twice. It’s a f***ing dance competition and she can dance. Year after year this programme gets more stupid. Maybe time for a change of format?”
A second added: “The Tony Adams joke needs to stop now, Ellie S absolutely did not deserve to go on what I think was her best dance of the series.”
