First Dates Fred Sirieix's daughter bags gold diving medal in Commonwealth Games

First Dates star Fred Sirieix’s daughter Andrea took home the gold medal for diving in the women’s 10 metre platform final.

17-year-old Andrea smashed the competition and was awarded gold after she performed an incredible dive for England.

Her father Fred, who is known as First Dates icon and pal of Gordon Ramsay and Gino D’Acampo, was watching from the wings as he eagerly anticipated his daughter’s turn.

As she took to the platform, wearing a bright red swimsuit, she poised and took a deep breath, balanced on the edge of the diving board and spread her arms out wide.

She threw herself backwards, flipping and tumbling through the air before she landed in the water with barely a splash.

The commentators and crowd went wild for her epic jump, but one person in the audience was more proud than most.

Her father Fred was seen beaming throughout and proudly filmed her as he watched from his seat.

The teenager’s dive was branded the “dive of the competition” and after her performance, she could be seen running away from the pool into the arms of her coach.

Later on, the newly crowned gold medallist was interviewed and appeared giddy with excitement as she spoke to the camera.

She said she “didn’t know what to say” and thinks that it is “really important not to put pressure on yourself,” so maintained a clear head “leading up to her final dive”.

When asked what she loves the most about the sport, she said: “The people. My family, my friends, the crowd, it’s exhilarating. It’s incredible! The people just make it amazing. I’m so happy, I can’t speak English right now!”

Andrea made her Olympic debut in Tokyo last year and finished seventh.

Fred had previously spoken to iNews about his daughter’s achievements and said: “Normally, because you’re there, you feel more a part of it, but watching on TV you feel completely powerless as a parent. It’s very hard.”

He continued: “Watching my daughter in a competition like the Olympics will be like an out of body experience. I won’t know whether to sit down, stand up or turn around!”
