Ben Shephard has revealed he doesn’t want to star on Strictly Come Dancing – and that he would be “rubbish” if he went on the “intense” and “all-consuming” show.
But the Good Morning Britain host admitted there’s a possibility he would take to the BBC ballroom in the future when the timing is right.
Ben, 47, explained it would be incredible to do the show but there was no way he could commit to Strictly enough to get the most out of the experience.

He told OK! Magazine: “It would be incredible but intense.”
Ben went on to predict that he’d be awful on the dancefloor, even though people expect him to be great as he’s got a background in dance.
He said: “Everybody’s got an opinion about your rumba or your salsa. I did the salsa withShirley Ballas on The One Show the other week and the amount of messages I got was really overwhelming!
“Everyone’s got this idea that because I’ve got a dance degree I’d be good on Strictly but I’d be rubbish. I did contemporary dance – standing at a bar and rolling around on the floor. It’s not charging across the dance floor doing a quickstep.”
The ITV presenter also revealed his GMB pals – Kate Garraway, Susanna Reid, Robert Rinder and Ed Balls – loved Strictly when they did it.
Ben previously told Daily Star that his ACL injury might stop him taking to the dancefloor in the near future.
He also offered his opinion on Countryfile presenter Helen Skelton after working with her over the years.
Ben was full of praise for the Strictly star, dubbing her “absolute dynamite and an incredible broadcaster and an amazing mum.”
The GMB presenter said he’s loved watching her do something as life-affirming as dancing as he knows how much joy you get from it.
Of his own Strictly stint, he said “never say never” to doing it but that now isn’t the right time for him as it’s “all-consuming.”
Ben earned a BA honours degree in Dance, Drama and Theatre Arts from the University of Birmingham.
