GMB's fans fuming as hosts share Dominic Raab throwback instead of 'grilling' him

ITV viewers were left rather unimpressed during the latest episode of Good Morning Britain after the presenters failed to grill politician Dominic Raab and focused on his previous boxing career instead.

Talking to Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard, the Deputy Prime Minister appeared on the breakfast show to discuss the cost of living crisis and improving boxing facilities in working class areas.

But the MP managed to dodge several hard hitting questions and the discussion of sports became the main focus.

Although Kate, 55, and Ben, 47, tried to make things light-hearted by providing viewers a throwback pic of the politician in his younger days, many wanted the hosts to grill him on more serious matters.

Fans were annoyed

Taking to Twitter, annoyed spectators shared their thoughts. One person said: “What a total waste of time these two interviewers are. Have the any idea how vile a human being Rabb is, ask him real questions.”

Another angry viewer wrote: “Country has gone to s**t but hey what a laugh along interview with Raab.”

A third penned: “@dominicraab You said that viewers of #GMB want you to get on with the job and stop talking about #partygate. Actually, you are wrong. I am a viewer and I want you and your #ToryLiars to stop lying and start being honest. Something #Johnson has never done. #NeverForgotten.”

While another added: “Ben and Kate are terrible interviewers. Grill him!!”

Before Dominic became Deputy Prime Minister of the UK, he achieved “a black belt 3rd in karate and is a former UK Southern Regions champion and British squad member,” according to his website.

He also captained the karate club at Oxford University where he studied law and was a boxing blue as a member of the institution’s famous amateur boxing club.

Sharing a picture of his younger days, Dominic expressed his passion for boxing and how it can help improve the lives of children from working-class backgrounds.

But as they delved further into the discussion, fans took to Twitter again to share their thoughts.

One person commented: “Is Raab suggesting that the only thing working class kids can do is join a boxing club. Surely it is the job of the government to offer other alternatives to improve social mobility.”

Meanwhile another chimed: “This is the only thing I am shocked by, Raab loves boxing and what I saw is good at.”
