Fans of The Great British Bake Off were left scratching their heads just minutes into the latest episode on Tuesday night (October 18).
The hit Channel 4 baking show returned with its Halloween Week on Tuesday, which meant the baking tent was filled with pumpkins, bats, and other spooky decorations.
It also meant the bakers were tasked with whipping up spooky treats for judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith, including a “eerie-sistible” apple cake and a scarily tough s’more technical.

However, fans of the show were baffled by the fact that Bake Off had decided to air its Halloween episode so soon, given that Halloween night isn’t until October 31.
They flocked to Twitter to complain about the scheduling decision at the start of the episode, and one might say they were even a little bit spooked.
One fan asked: “Why isn’t Halloween week next week when it’s closer to Halloween?”
A second wondered: “Erm why is it Halloween week when it’s not Halloween week?”
A third commented: “It’s too early to be having Halloween week.”
A fourth said: “It’s a bit early for Halloween… Is #gbbo not on next week?!”
A fifth added: “Halloween week??? It’s only the 18th October.”
The official GBBO Twitter account had a jovial response to one viewer who asked: “Shouldn’t this be next week?”
The account cheekily quipped: “No, it’s Christmas Week next Tuesday*!” before adding: “*this is a lie”.
Nevertheless, the bakers got stuck into the Halloween spirit as they rocked spooky costumes in the episode.
Music teacher Kevin wore a black pumpkin t-shirt and admitted: “We were never allowed to dress up as anything scary for Halloween… One year I got dressed up as a clock with a mouse running up it.”
Gothic host Noel Fielding didn’t look out of place either as he turned up in a skeleton costume and witch hat.
It was a special week for Syabira and Maxy as they both got a ‘Hollywood handshake’, a handshake from Paul, for doing so well in the apple challenge.
Syabira won Star Baker after a show-stopping technical, but it was Dawn’s time to leave the tent as she was the latest baker to get the boot.
The Great British Bake Off airs on Channel 4 on Tuesdays at 8pm
