Good Morning Britain has seen Susanna Reid host the ITV breakfast show for eight years, starting in 2014.
Viewers have become used to seeing her each morning, so many were shocked today (April 25) when they tuned in to find her missing from the show.
Typically, she is joined by either Richard Madeley or Ben Shephard after Piers Morgan quit the breakfast show in March 2021 in a row over refusing to apologise for comments he made about Meghan Markle.
There is no need for panic though, as the news presenter will be back and she is still very much part of the show.
This week, she is taking part from a very different location as she interviews refugees from Ukraine in Poland.
Why isn’t Susanna Reid presenting GMB?
Susanna Reid may not have been on the sofa this morning, but she was still very much part of the show.
In a special broadcast, the presenter was seen Medyka in Poland, reporting live on the ongoing crisis in Ukraine.
Reid took part in some heartbreaking interviews in which she spoke directly to the people impacted by the war.
Families and children were interviewed, revealing the devastating human effects of Russia’s war.
She also spoke to war campaigner David Morrisey and the former president of Ukraine, Viktor Yushenko.
When will Susanna Reid be back on GMB?
It isn’t clear exactly when Reid will be returning to the UK, though she is expected this week.
Who is hosting GMB now?
Richard Madeley was left alone in the studio, but the pair regularly communicated throughout the broadcast as the war in Ukraine was the biggest story of the morning.
Reid was still serving as co-presenter, though she was not involved in stories that didn’t involve the crisis in Ukraine.
As such, news from Emmanuel Macron’s re-election in France was covered by Madeley, solely.
It isn’t known if Madeley will be hosting on the sofa alone all week or if Ben Shephard will come in to replace him.
*Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV
