Holly Willoughby was told off by Phillip Schofield after admitting to breaking the “number one presenting rule” on This Morning by not noticing the cameras were rolling and staring at a monitor.
The presenter returned to the ITV studio with Phillip after the weekend break on Monday (April 25).
After the show returned from an advert break early on in the show Holly suddenly burst out laughing.
Holly then admitted her blunder, saying: “I was actually just watching us on the monitor, then I was like ‘oh my God I’m watching and we’re actually on’.”
Phillip gave her a stern look and a scolding, saying: “You can’t watch the tele if you’re on it.”
Holly exclaimed: “I know! Rule number one of the presenting handbook, I’m sorry.”
Phil then then gasped “wow” as Holly laughed it off.
She said “happy Monday!” before continuing to present the programme.
The episode included interviews with singer Aled Jones and Labour leader Kier Starmer who said there should be “zero tolerance” of sexism in parliament.
Keir’s comments come after the Prime Minister and Culture Secretary tweeted words of support for Labour MP Angela Rayner, who was accused in a Mail On Sunday of trying to distract Boris Johnson by opening her legs as he spoke in Parliament.
Schofe also stopped a guest in their tracks after they announced what they planned to cook for the hosts on the early morning show.
Phil Vickery appeared in the cooking segment for the ITV show and introduced his dish, named “Phil’s Spiced Lamb Kebabs”.
Phil began: “I’ve got some sort of kebabs here that we’re going to play around with, along with a dip which I had in a restaurant a couple of weeks ago.”
“Also, couscous! A lot of people don’t like it, but if you get a lot of flavours into it…”
Phillip cut off the celebrity chef: “Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on. What did you just say? Couscous? It’s horrid, it should be packaging not food!”
Schofield screwed up his face in disgust as he complained, while Holly noted: “It’s not as bad as polenta, you hate polenta.”
Phillip then pulled another face and said that polenta is “even worse” than couscous, but Holly said that at least it’s “one-up” from polenta.
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV
