Hollyoaks favourite Marnie Nightingale has tragically died after suffering a head injury during the horror fire explosion at her beloved Salon De Thé patisserie.
It comes after Sylver McQueen and Celeste Faroe perished inside the burning building during Tuesday’s hour-long episode.
Juliet Nightingale’s life was on the line and was in critical condition at the start of Wednesday’s first-look showing on E4.
Her grandmother Marnie was determined to make sure that the young girl survived and got through her operation.
Juliet eventually woke up and shared a sweet scene with her brother James Nightingale (Greg Finnegan).
However, things took a dramatic turn outside the hospital as Marnie passed away while chatting to Juliet’s mum Donna-Marie Quinn (Lucy-Jo Hudson).
Moments before her death, Marnie told Donna-Marie: “I am surrounded by so much love and never going to let that go.
“Which is why I never say au revoir.”
She went on to make amends with Donna-Marie, who she often clashed with in the past.
As Donna-Marie told Marnie how happy she was being back in the village, Marnie peacefully fell asleep on her shoulder.
Donna-Marie screamed for help but it was too late and Marnie sadly passed away in heartbreaking scenes as her son James watched on.
Viewers rushed to their keyboards as they discussed the emotional episode.
Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: “Cheers Hollyoaks in tears now.”
Another added: “Not even 10 minutes into the episode and I’m CRYING”
A third person posted: “I am crying” with three crying face emojis.
While a fourth social media said: “I’m crying a river right now.”
Earlier in the episode, The Deverauxs and McQueens got confirmation that both Sylver and Celeste had died.
The heartbroken families were left devastated and fans will have to wait and see how the village will cope with the tragedies.
In snippet played during the latest instalment showed Sylver recording a video for Mercedes on his phone explaining that Bobby was on his way out.
However, viewers will already know that Bobby lied and told Mercedes that he didn’t see Sylver inside the building.
Hollyoaks spoilers have revealed that James vows for revenge following his mum’s death in upcoming scenes.
