I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! host Declan Donnelly lifted the lid on his secret phobia as Matt Hancock took part in his fifth consecutive Bushtucker trial.
During Sunday’s visit to the Australian jungle, the disgraced politician took part in the House of Horrors challenge where he was tasked to face his fears of creepy critters in a tiny building.
Luckily, the MP managed to collect a total of nine out of a possible 11 stars on offer as he conquered his fears of snakes and spiders in the bug-infested dolls house.

ITV co-host Ant McPartlin explained to the dad-of-three: “Inside this giant doll’s house are four rooms. All you have to do Matt is crawl around searching for stars.
“Every star that’s in your star bag at the end of the time will count as a meal for camp,” he clarified.
But as soon as Dec spotted Matt’s first room, the terrified-looking opened up about his unusual fear with a common street pest.
As Matt entered the first room, the TV presenter confessed: “Pigeons. I don’t like it Ant. It’s the ‘flappiness’ that gets me. I don’t like the beaks either.”
Unlike the beloved ITV host, Matt had no problem contending with the birds as he successfully pulled three stars from the room.
One of the most disturbing rooms in the bug-infested doll house for the 44-year-old MP was the gruelling 2.5million flies in one room.
Less than impressed with the horrific task, he quickly told the presenting duo: “The thing you don’t know is this really smells!”
It’s fair to say the politician’s biggest challenge he was forced to overcome was in the game’s final room which was infiltrated with snakes.
He admitted: “Snakes, you know that I don’t like snakes. Oh my goodness, that’s alive!” which set him back with the politician opting not to collect the final two stars for camp.
But that wasn’t the only terrifying critter Matt faced that day, after medics rushed to his aid when he yelped in pain after being stung by a scorpion.

A TV show source later revealed: “Matt didn’t see the scorpion until it was too late and it bit his finger.
“He felt a lot of pain and made a yelping noise, but thankfully for him there was no lasting damage.
“Medics checked him over and gave him a clean bill of health but the whole camp is now watching out for them. Matt was saying afterwards it felt twice as painful as a bee sting.”
