Inside Jessica Alba's life – kidnap, virginity pact and hate of 'disgusting' sex scenes

At the height of her career, Jessica Alba was one of the most popular actresses in Hollywood.

The now 40-year-old made her first television and movie appearances at the tender age of 13 in The Secret World of Alex Mack and Camp Nowhere.

She gained global recognition when she was 19 after beating over a thousand women to land the role of Max Guevara in TV series Dark Angel.

The actress was being hired everywhere, starring in films like Sin City, the hit rom-com Never Been Kissed, while her most notable role came from the Fantastic Four films in which she played superhero Susan Storm.

Despite being Hollywood’s number one leading star in the early noughties, the actress eventually put her film career on the back burner.

But it turned out that while she was becoming the Hollywood ‘It Girl’, the actress had already suffered more than most.

To celebrate her 41st birthday, Daily Star has taken a look inside the actress’ life, from her haunting past to a Hollywood love story.

Kidnap

In 1996, Jessica was on the set of the TV series Flipper when she began receiving strange calls.

Jessica, then 15, dismissed the calls, thinking it was nothing but a harmless prank.

Shortly after, the young actress was kidnapped from set and went missing for 14 hours.

After an extensive search, Jessica was found tied up, gagged, and blindfolded in the boot of the car.

The case was eventually dropped because 15-year-old Jessica couldn’t provide the police with any details.

Broken virginity pact

Coming from a religious background, Jessica was brought up as a Christian and didn’t believe in sex before marriage.

She stood by what she believed in, until she was thrust into the spotlight.

While filming Dark Angel, the then 18-year-old Jessica met 30-year-old Michael Weatherly and the pair began a relationship.

Despite the 12-year age difference and her parents’ open disapproval, Michael proposed to Jessica on her 20th birthday which she accepted.

Three years after they announced their engagement, the pair went their separate ways in 2003.

Speaking of their relationship at a later date, Jessica she was “so young” when she started dating the NCIS actor and wanted to make sure of one thing before their relationship went further.

The California native explained: “I was a virgin. I knew I wanted to be in love with the first person I slept with because for almost everyone I knew, the first experience made them feel like s***.”

After their breakup, the actress admitted that she enjoyed “a wild period with men” for a short while.

After making a cameo on the TV series Entourage, Jessica enjoyed a brief romance with Mark Wahlberg in 2004.

There were also rumours that she briefly dated US baseball star Derek Jeter as well as well as her Into The Blue co-star, Paul Walker.

Dealing with sex scenes

Like many women in Hollywood, Jessica has spoken openly about the sexualisation she endured throughout her career and was clear on the boundaries she’d set for herself in terms of nudity on screen.

The L.A.’s Finest star admitted that despite filming sex scenes in some of her projects, she actually finds them “disgusting.”

Speaking on The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast in May 2019 alongside her now husband Cash Warren, the topic of Jessica’s steamy sessions in movies came up in conversation.

Referring to her intimate scenes with Pierce Brosnan and Bruce Willis, Jessica called them “very attractive gentlemen” but still finds it “weird” to film those kinds of scenes because she doesn’t know them.

The Sin City star explained: “When you’re choosing to want to be with someone in that way, it’s very intimate, like, you’re breathing on someone.

“And it’s all there, and you’re like, smelling the skin…You want to choose who you’re doing that with, and you got to really, kind of like, pretend.”

Producer Cash pointed out that Jessica had worked with some “studs” and said: “There’s no way you’re not going to enjoy hooking up with him.”

Jessica hit back: “”That’s the difference between me and you.

“It’s disgusting most of the time because they’re usually a stranger.”

The Dear Eleanor star confessed in the same podcast she had to take a shot of tequila before filming a sex scene.

Hollywood love story

While on the set of Fantastic Four, Jessica met the now 43-year-old Cash Warren, who was working as a director’s assistant at the time, and they began dating shortly after.

Speaking to Cosmopolitan in 2005, Jessica gushed: “His name is Cash… He’s not famous. He might be ‘The One’.”

The couple announced their engagement in late 2007 and married in May 2008 in a small courthouse ceremony, just weeks before their first child, Honour, was born.

Since then, the pair have welcomed two more children, a second daughter named Haven, 10 and 4-year-old son Hayes.

The loved up couple regularly gush over each other on their social media pages and in 2016, the 43-year-old shared his adoration for his wife in a birthday post on Instagram.

Underneath a picture of him kissing his wife’s cheek, the film producer wrote: “I still get butterflies in my stomach around you. I still wake up in the middle of the night and smile because you’re next to me. I still laugh at your jokes.

“I am still inspired by you. I’m still in awe of your beauty. The only thing that’s changed since the first day I met you is our age. Happy Birthday my sweet love!!!”
