Love Island narrator Iain Stirling lands huge new voicing job away from UK show

Love Island narrator Iain Stirling has reportedly landed himself a job voicing the US version of the hit ITV2 dating show.

The Scottish ITV presenter has narrated the UK version of Love Island since it returned to screen in 2015 – where he’s left fans laughing with his witty remarks and saucy jokes.

Stirling, who is married to Irish Love Island host Laura Whitmore, is now set to voice the revamped American spin-off version of the hit dating show which airs on Peacock.

Iain will step in to replace past host Matthew Hoffman, who narrated the US version for three seasons when it aired on CBS.

Jenny Groom, NBCUniversal’s vice president of unscripted content, said: “The moment the decision was made to bring an all-new version of Love Island to Peacock, we knew we had to get Iain on board.

“Iain embodies everything fans love about the show — humor, irreverence and cheeky fun. Love Island would not be the same without him.”

Comedian Iain has voiced the UK edition of Love Island for over five years since it came back in 2015.

He has also appeared on Channel 4’s Celebrity Gogglebox alongside his presenter wife, Laura.

Stirling got into hot water with Newcastle United fans after branding the team “a pony club”.

Gemma Owen, who is an international dressage rider, is the daughter of former footballer Michael Owen, who famously played for Newcastle United.

Levelling a dig at the team, Iain said: “Luca’s grabbed Gemma for a catch up. Gemma was telling me today that she once joined a pony club. Coincidently her dad Michael once joined a pony club…it’s called Newcastle United.”

Another said: “A third reacted: “does iain stirling want a fight” while another wrote: “Iain Stirling… I’m going to find you mate!”

The American Love Island has promised to pack on the action after moving to Peacock, with a tease of “naughtier games and sexier challenges.”

The US Love Island premiered July 19 with six episodes airing a week.
