Samira Mighty may have appeared on The X Factor: Celebrity but she was previously given a “no” from show bosses before appearing on Love Island.
The reality star turned singer who is celebrating the release of her debut single, I Love Your Smile, appeared on the celebrity edition of the ITV singing contest back in 2019.
She appeared alongside Eyal Booker, Wes Nelson and Zara McDermott, who she also starred alongside on Love Island, in the group No Love Lost.

Despite all three having previous singing experience, the trip finished in eighth place, while former TOWIE star Megan McKenna went on to win.
But this wasn’t her first brush with the show as she exclusively told Daily Star: “I actually auditioned for The X Factor when I was 15, they had that small window where you could audition when you were really young.
“I did that, I only got through two rounds and I understand because I sang a Pixie Lott song extremely high, I’m talking seven octaves higher than it should be.
“I was basically Katherine Jenkins going in doing opera, I don’t know what I was doing.”
The songstress continued: “When we were younger, X Factor was the only way to pick the charts and become famous and get in there.
“You’d go to the world premieres of movies and it’s so different now, it’s full of TikTokers and influencers, back then, it was X Factor celebrities.
“I was obsessed and so when I got the opportunity to go on X Factor, it was a no-brainer ‘let me do it now’.
“I did want to be my own artist but it was a very good experience to be in a band, you learn a lot about yourself and how you communicate with others and if you have a natural leadership and if you have a knock, you fall back.
“There’s so much stuff, I always say, Beyoncé had to start everywhere.”
Despite finally making a name for herself in the music industry, Samira explained that she wasn’t nervous about sharing her track, saying: “There’s adults, children, older people, anyone will love the song.
“I think it was just a given because everyone knows it, it’s such a nice summer vibe after the past couple of years we’ve had and I think it’s nice to have a nice message in a song and also be able to dance to it.
“Obviously there’s always nerves going into changing your career, this is what I’ve always wanted to do and it’s such a good intro to my singing career because it’s such a fun song.
“I was a little bit nervous about going into the industry but this is something I’ve always wanted to do and I feel like I’m meant to be doing it, Im not too sceptical about it.”
