Love Island's Kaila Troy says she's 'naive' and claims show is 'not everything it seems'

Former Love Island star Kaila Troy claimed the ITV2 dating show is “not everything it seems.”

The blonde bombshell, 28, turned heads last year when she arrived in Casa Amor looking for love.

Despite forming a brief connection with finalist Teddy Soares, it wasn’t meant to be and she was dumped from the island just three days after her arrival.

Since leaving the villa, the LA based beauty has thrived in her career as a DJ and enjoyed plenty of success after joining OnlyFans.

In an exclusive chat with Daily Star, the Irish native reflected on her short stint in the villa and confessed her approach to the show was naive.

“I always think it’s good in life to have a learning lesson, and the learning lesson for the show in particular is that it’s not everything that it seems,” she revealed.

The OnlyFans star added: “When I went in, I was thinking I’m definitely going to find someone, I’m definitely going to come out in a relationship. And now I’m like ‘well that was naive of me to think that’.”

Despite only being on the show for three days, the 28-year-old confessed her Love Island experience didn’t feel quick because she had been in Spain for “six weeks” prior to her arrival in Casa Amor.

Kaila explained: “It didn’t really feel like it was so quick for me and just three days, because I was already in Spain six weeks prior and they were holding me there in a villa with my chaperone.”

Kaila admitted her Love Island experience didn’t go quickly because she spent six weeks in Spain prior to her three days in Casa Amor

“So it felt like I was on the show for the whole time, even though I wasn’t filming, because I was there for the length of time that people from the very beginning were there for.”

The star went on to admit that the experience of the show as a whole was “fun and exciting” because of the secrecy behind it.

“The experience of the show – it was fun to see it and it was exciting being in it, seeing how it all works and the secrets.”

She added: “Because you can’t tell anyone you’re going to be on the show, and holding that in forever and being extra careful when you’re on set and doing press, it’s kind of fun having to keep that a secret.”

Love Island airs nightly on ITV2 and ITV Hub at 9pm
