Chart-topping singer Madonna was left “speechless” after she received a ban on Instagram.
The 63-year-old, who is often known to upload risqué content on the social media platform, was taken aback when she realised she couldn’t “go live” with fellow musician sickickmusic.
Sharing a video of her failed attempt, Madonna was stunned when she found out it wasn’t possible to address her 18million followers.
Taking to her Instagram story, Madonna could be seen speaking to sickickmusic on the phone.
She said: “Hi, I don’t know it’s just weird, we tried to go live and Instagram blocked me but they’re being really mysterious about why.
“I don’t know why they’re not giving me a reason, it’s like a bureaucracy instead of a computer, really weird.”
She continued: “I haven’t done anything lately, I haven’t done anything crazy, not this week anyway.
“I mean it may have been a delayed reaction from the NFTs from last week but I’m not really sure.
“But I just want to take this opportunity to say to anybody who’s been waiting on us on live Instagram that we are not holding things up and we’re sorry.
“I’m sorry I let everybody down, I was really looking forward to this.”
Sickickmusic replied: “I was too, but I’m sure it won’t last forever we’ll fix that.”
Agreeing to his statement, Madonna replied: “I’m gonna go back in time and pledge allegiance to the censorship people.”
Seeing the Material Girl’s dilemma on their screens, fans flocked to the comment section on her original post to share their thoughts.
One person wrote: “Ridiculous!! Not surprised!”
Another penned: “Wow that’s so weird, was so looking forward to see you and sickick live.”
A third added: “Happens to us all! Have you been to Facebook Jail? I bet not! I know they didn’t like to bootie shot!”
Madonna has been heavily promoting the remix for her 1998 single Frozen and has worked alongside sickickmusic to update the sound.
Last week, Madonna hit headlines after she released the Mother of Creation, an NFT triptych on SuperRare.
The pictures included images of herself giving birth to a tree, butterflies and centipedes.
Talking about the raunchy photos, she said: “I’m doing what women have been doing since the beginning of time, which is giving birth. But on a more existential level, I’m giving birth to art and creativity and we would be lost without both.”
