Mo Gilligan was forced to issue his apologies after he’d dropped the F-bomb while hosting the 2022 Brit Awards live on ITV.
The 33-year-old TV star seamed to get excited and forgot himself while imagining he was in Ibiza as he introduced the legendary disc jockey Pete Tong.
At the time, presenter Mo hadn’t even realised that he’d landed the red faced expletive and was later asked to say sorry to viewers.
He said: “So guys earlier in the show I got a little bit carried away and swore.
“Apologies for any offence caused.”
Turning to his co-star Maya Jame who was sat at his side, he added: “I lost myself you know.”
The Walk The Line star chirped back: “It’s alright it gets exciting.”
“I really lost myself,” he repeated.
Defending her chum, Maya told him: “It happens to the best of us.”
“Aunty Patrice won’t be happy you man. No curry goat for me. Oh my gosh.”
At the start of the show, Mo explained that his aunt had been sat in the live audience.
She was cheering him on from the stalls to celebrate his first hosting gig at the swanky red carpet bash.
The comedian who is also a judge on The Masked Singer UK took over hosting duties this year from Jack Whitehall who had presented the awards for the past four years.
He made history books at the BRIT awards on Tuesday (February 8) by being the first Black British host of the music ceremony.
But some fans on Twitter were divided over his performance, one tweet read: “I love Mo but why is he shouting everything. You’ve got a mic man tone it down a bit.”
Another person wrote: “I never thought I would say this but “bring back Jack Whitehall” #thebrits #brits.”
Others disagreed, writing: “I’m only here for Mo #Brits2020,” and “Mo is killing it tonight, he’s so funny #BritAwards.”
