Naga Munchetty reacts to BBC Breakfast host 'reshuffle' with cheeky Jon Kay jibe

BBC Breakfast host Naga Munchetty has reacted on social media at the news of who has replaced former presenter Dan Walker on the show.

Naga took to social media on Friday as she reacted to the confirmation that Dan Walker was being replaced by his co-star Jon Kay.

Jon shared his joy at his job news after being promoted to the main presenter as he posted: “RESHUFFLE LATEST So delighted to share this news and join the outstanding @BBCBreakfast team full time.

“An absolute honour to front the UK’s number one morning show with my mates @sallynugent @TVNaga01 and Charlie (and his new cat!).”

Naga shared her reaction to Dan’s replacement news

Naga quickly retweeted the message as she added: “Best News ever! Welcome to planting your bum permanently on the @BBCBreakfast sofa my brilliant friend @jonkay01.”

Dan also chimed in to share a message to Jon, writing: “Brilliant news. Congratulations @jonkay01.

“Great bloke, top presenter and much loved by the #BBCBreakfast team.”

Naga also congratulated Victoria Derbyshire after she was announced to be the news Newsnight presenter.

Victoria posted: “Personal: SO HAPPY I’ll be joining fab @KirstyWark & the talented @BBCNewsnight team under new & ambitious leadership.

“It’s one of the best jobs in British journalism & I can’t wait to champion more stories about people’s lives while holding those who represent them to account.

Naga is good friends with her co-star Jon Kay

“Wherever you are in the UK, whatever you do, whatever your life is like, wherever you work (including government/Whitehall), I do hope you know you can trust me.”

Naga replied: “Congratulations.”

Naga wasn’t the only one to comment on Jon’s news, as BBC viewers quickly rushed to the post to share their congratulations.

One said: “Had a feeling it would go to him.”

Another agreed: “A very good choice” as a third chipped in: “That’s good news and a lovely tweet Naga.”
