Nineties pop icon utterly unrecognisable as fans 'can't believe' her real age

Nineties pop icon Tori Amos looks completely unrecognisable 25 years after her UK number one hit.

She rose to fame in 1996 with the track Professional Widow, appearing on the Boys For Pele album – and was later remixed by Armand van Helden.

She also had hits including Silent All These Years, Crucify and Spark.

Her sixteenth studio album was released last year, written and recorded in Cornwall during the Covid-19 lockdown.

Tori’s career hasn’t faded into the background since her sellout hit, either, as she’s good pals with Good Omens author Neil Gaiman and got involved in writing projects alongside him, as well as performing a track for the closing credits of the TV series.

Tori Amos now looks nothing like her 90s days

Now the star looks totally different after celebrating her 59th birthday.

Gone are the deep red curls and shy smile of her nineties heyday, replaced with luscious orange locks that fall down past her shoulders.

Posing for a sultry snap on her Instagram page, Tori donned a pair of glasses and a wide-brimmed black hat, dressing up for her birthday with a dark navy silk shirt.

The star could be seen in what looked to be a recording studio as she tipped her hat to fans, opting for a natural make-up look including a pink lip and subtle blush.

She told fans: “Hey everyone. Thanks so much for all the beautiful birthday messages. It truly makes this day very special.

“I miss you and can’t wait to see y’all soon. Hugs T.”

Fans immediately poured into the comments section to wish her the best, with one penning: “Happy belated 59th born day you truly age like fine wine! Hope you enjoyed it to the fullest!”
