Phillip Schofield gobsmacked as wife Steph makes rare TV appearance with daughter Molly.
Lorraine Kelly decided to help Phillip celebrate 40 years in the industry with a help form his colleagues, friends and former co-stars.
She dedicated Monday’s episode of her talk show to her ITV colleague and invited plenty of guests to her show to pay tribute to the broadcasting legend.
She turned up to his This Morning dressing room unannounced live on air with Phil turning around in his chair with his eyebrows raised.
Phillip and his co-host Holly Willoughby appeared to have had their make-up done an hour ahead of This Morning as Phil expressed his shock at Lorraine Kelly’s appearance.
Later, Phillip appeared Lorraine’s sofa and exclaimed: “Oh my god! i’ve got my earpiece in my pocket! I can’t hear anything!”
As well as receiving messages from Gino D’Campo, Jason Donovan and Ant and Dec, Phillip also received a video call from his loved ones.
Wife Steph said: “He is genuinely interested in people and he’s good fun. Ruby wanted to be here too but she sends her congratulations.”
While Molly added: “I’ve always been so proud of him.
“I remember going on a school trip to see him in Doctor Dolittle and all my friends wanted to find him for an autograph and I queued up myself because I didn’t want to be left out.”
Phillip admitted he was confused how the pair managed to video call the studio after their Wifi was hit by Storm Eunice over the weekend.
Molly told her dad: “We’re hot spotting.”
Joining the conversation, Lorraine joked: “Here’s to the next 40 years hey Steph.”
Steph replied: “Oh yes, I need him to keep working”, leaving Phillip to burst into laughter.
Phillip’s This Morning co-star Holly also paid tribute to Phillip on Instagram, writing: “Today the TV oracle marks his 40th year in the business… for a long time I watched you and then for the last 15 years I have been lucky enough to sit alongside you.
“You have taught me so much, you have always been patient and generous with me… It’s been an honour to play a part in your TV story… love you to bits @schofe.
