Phillip Schofield panics as Lorraine Kelly recalls time they got 'dressed up' together

Phillip Schofield was left feeling panicked live on air as Lorraine Kelly brought up the time they dressed up together.

The Scottish host, 62, celebrated Phillip’s 40 years in broadcasting on her ITV talk show on Monday morning.

Lorraine surprised Phillip at the top of the show when she turned up to his This Morning dressing room unannounced.

The father of two was visibly shocked when Lorraine appeared with her camera crew and explained that her latest show was all about celebrating his four decade long career.

Phillip later joined Lorraine on her famous sofa where they looked back at his time on television.

Lorraine quickly brought up the time she presented This Morning with Phillip when his former co-host Fern Britton took some time off.

She said: “We used to have such a laugh. I know you still do this but we used to dress up.”

“Do you remember we’d dress up as mad things?”

A shocked Phillip said: “What sort of things? Don’t say anything you think i’m going to regret later.”

Lorraine giggled as she added: “For this show. We never dressed up for each other.”

She later showed videos of the pair in fancy dress while on This Morning presenting duty.

Later in the show, Holly Willoughby joined Phillip and Lorraine to open up about working with her friend on This Morning.

She explained that if it wasn’t for Phillip she wouldn’t be working on the ITV daytime show.

Phillip asked bosses for Holly to join the This Morning team after Fern quit the series.

He had previously worked with Holly on Dancing on Ice and urged executives to let her join him on the award-winning programme.

Lorraine also organised special messages from Richard and Judy, Ant and Dec and regular This Morning guest Miriam Margolyes.

Aged 19, Phillip moved with his family to New Zealand, where he made his television debut as the initial presenter of the youth music programme Shazam! on 23 February 1982.
