Ranvir Singh shares reason for GMB exit in health update after being forced off air

Journalist Ranvir Singh has shared the reason why she was forced to disappear from screens on a recent episode of Good Morning Britain.

The 44 year old was abruptly pulled off air on Tuesday (March 29) as presenter Richard Madeley highlighted a change in her appearance.

Viewers also noticed that something was different with Ranvir and said it looked like she had been “crying” as Ranvir put it down to hey fever.

Updating fans on what exactly happened and providing further details on her health, the mother-of-one said: “Thanks for all the guidance on my streaming sore eyes this week!

“It was an allergic reaction to something more than tree pollen as the skin around my eyes has gone paper thin and sore.

She also shared that she will back on TV screens very soon.

She added: “Anyway I’ll be hosting @lorraine tomorrow and for all of next week – sorry for my face!”

Due to Ranvir’s unexpected change in health, GMB was forced to replace her with journalist Louisa James who read the news for the remainder of the show.

Susanna Reid who was presenting the ITV programme alongside Richard, asked Louisa on an update on how her colleague was doing.

Louisa responded: “She’s OK, well we think she’s going to be OK. We think Ranvir may have had an allergic reaction. She’s got a sore eye. She’s just resting.”

Susanna also mentioned that Ranvir would be “back in a moment”, but unfortunately she didn’t return.

Before departing from the GMB set, a suffering Ranvir tweeted: “Anyone else got the worst most painful stinging hay-fever they’ve ever had? I can barely keep my eyes open. If there was a vaccine for this I’d sign up asap :(.”

The news of Ranvir’s sickness comes after The Sun reported that the star had decided to quit her role as political editor on the morning show but TV bosses have been trying their best to keep her job safe.

It was reported that the Strictly star handed in her notice at the end of last year with hopes of being moved into a more substantial position on the ITV show.
