Roman Kemp threatens to 'storm off' The One Show set after brutal guest jibe

Roman Kemp threated to walk off the set of The One Show after being savagely snubbed by a guest.

The Capital Breakfast DJ was hosting the show with his co-star Alex Jones last Wednesday (July 14).

However, things turned rather awkward when the presenters spoke to England footballer Jill Scott via video link, just after the England team beat Norway in the Euros to reach the quarter-finals.

Jill was brutally honest with Roman when she told him she was hoping to chat to former Boyzone star Roman Keating instead.

She joked: “I have to be honest, they said I was getting interviewed by RK today, and I was hoping it was Ronan Keating.”

Jill quickly added: “So, I am sorry Roman.”

Poor Roman then waved goodbye to viewers and got up from his seat as if he were about to leave the studio.

He quipped: “See you later,” before asking: “Should I stay?”

Welsh presenter Alex poked fun at Roman when she said: “We will have to get you back on, Jill, Ronan would be chuffed.”

Roman later admitted he was “dying inside” from the mortifying moment, and he revealed his heartache yet again on Wednesday’s show (July 20).

After reminding viewers of what he branded an ‘unfortunate’ episode, Ronan couldn’t help giggling as he mocked his co-host about it.

Ronan said: “Sorry, buddy” before quipping that she was a big fan of Roman’s dad Martin’s band Spandau Ballet.

The savage snub came after Alex asked the Lioness how the team celebrated their big win, after which Jill admitted she was a huge fan of Roman’s former boyband, Boyzone.

Alex asked: “Apparently, you played a bit of Abba to celebrate?”

Jill quipped: “We can’t talk about that.”

“No, we always like to have a bit of music after the game as I think it is important you celebrate those small wins along the way.

“I was a bit gutted because I am a massive Boyzone fan, so I wanted to play some of their music, but the girls said it wasn’t uptempo enough.”
