Strictly Come Dancing host Tess Daly shares excitement as BBC show airs landmark first

Strictly Come Dancing host Tess Daly has shared her excitement, as the BBC programme prepares to broadcast live on a Sunday for the first time ever.

It will be the first time that the beloved BBC competition will air on a Sunday in its 18 year history, as contestants prepare to take to the dance floor for the semi-final.

The live semi-final is usually broadcast on a Saturday, but due to the FIFA World Cup, the Strictly schedule was moved to accommodate upcoming football matches.

The Strictly semi-final will see the five remaining celebrities take to the dancefloor, with Molly Rainford, Will Mellor, Fleur East, Helen Skelton and Hamza Yassin all competing to lift the glitterball trophy.

This comes after Coronation Street actress Kym Marsh became the latest celebrity to leave the competition, after she and professional dance partner Graziano di Prima failed to impress the judges last week.
